Teresa Brennan of Good Morning Wellness: a private check-in for men’s wellbeing

By Men’s digital wellbeing · Filmed at Wave, London · Recorded

Social worker and founder Teresa Brennan explains the idea behind a men’s wellbeing app, its early development and the people helping her build it.

A founder starting with a difficult conversation

Teresa Brennan’s idea for Good Morning Wellness began with what she had seen in social care: men can find it difficult to discuss personal and mental health. She describes herself as a registered social worker with years of experience supporting men in settings including homelessness, prisons and drug and alcohol services.

Speaking at Wave in London on 1 October 2026, she explains why she wanted a private, simple way for men to reflect on their wellbeing. The app she is building asks users to record morning erections alongside information such as sleep, alcohol consumption and how they feel.

A small daily habit, rather than a complicated routine

Teresa describes a brief morning check-in, with information presented over daily, weekly and monthly views. In her account, AI helps organise that information. Her aim is to make the data understandable and educational, helping users notice patterns and feel more able to talk about their health.

That ambition should be distinguished from a proven clinical result. Teresa discusses a possible connection with heart health, but the interview does not establish that the app can diagnose, predict or rule out a heart condition.

For wider context, the NHS explains that erection difficulties can have several causes, including stress, tiredness and alcohol, and can sometimes be associated with underlying conditions. It advises seeing a GP or sexual health clinic if problems keep happening. Tracking observations is different from receiving a medical assessment.

Bringing social care and technical experience together

At the time of the interview, Teresa says the team has a working minimum viable product and is beginning testing. Her co-founder Nick brings technology experience and has been developing the app. She is candid that the technical process has involved learning as they go.

The combination is central to the founder story. Teresa brings experience of the people and the difficulty she wants to address; her co-founder helps translate that understanding into software. The next questions concern how people use it, what they understand from it and whether the experience supports the purpose she describes.

The people around the product

Asked what she would tell someone building an app, Teresa emphasises finding the right people and a good advisory board. She also describes events as a source of encouragement, advice and further introductions.

Her story is about making an uncomfortable subject easier to approach, while learning how to build a business around that intention. The product’s ambition is clear; testing, trustworthy explanations and appropriate support will matter as it develops.
